This website has a most comprehensive and unique compilation of

U.S. and International Nutrient Databases.

Besides the standard nutrients, we have online databases for hard-to-find data such as glycemic index and glycemic load of over 3,000 foods, acidity ratings of 8,000+ foods, protein ratings of foods based on component essential amino acids, etc., as well as fructose, iodine, purine and oxalate contents of foods.

The key difference between our online nutrient databases and many other food databases on the internet is that ours are not only searchable but also sortable.
For example, no other nutrition databases allow the user to compare the protein contents of cheeses in their databases; or fiber in different vegetables; ours do.
And, at many other nutrition websites, a researcher who is interested in a single nutrient would have to wade through data for many other nutrients one food at a time. Our approach enables fast, convenient and focused research.

As a result, international health scientists have worked with us to translate our databases into Croatian, Czech, French, Greek, Italian, etc. No other nutrient databases have this worldwide support and reception.

In addition, we also have national nutrient databases from Australia, Denmark (in Danish), Sweden (in Swedish), Switzerland (in German, French and Italian), the United Kingdom, etc.

If you are a health professional, you are invited to contribute articles on nutrition topics of your choice to this website. In exchange, we provide links to your own websites and space to promote your business from your articles.

The Swiss Food Composition Database is a data collection of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) on the composition of foods that are available in Switzerland.

The current version of the Swiss Food Composition Database contains approximately 1,000 foods.

For all the foods contained in the database, complete information is presented on the macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, fats) as well as for water content, alcohol content and energy content. In addition, the content of dietary fibres and micronutrients (vitamins, minerals) as well as the composition of the fats (saturated, mono-unsaturated, poly-unsaturated) are listed for the majority of foods.

The database is available in German, French and Italian via the links below. We have implemented an interface to the database that makes it easy to search, sort and compare nutrients in foods. We also provide a flexible nutrient selection feature where user can choose any or all of the available nutrients for display.
